Software Development

Upcom's main goal is the improvement and automation of business prossesses in view of improving their performance and competitiveness.

In most of today's activities there exists a multitude of software solutions automating and optimizing the processes. Some of our clients tend to us for the customisation of those solutions to their specific needs. But our strongest points are in custom software development, where the solution is tailored to the exact needs of the client.

We excel in business analysis tasks, the cornerstone of modern Information Technology projects, proceed with detailed requirements gathering, proper analysis, architecture and design, implementation with a view to the maintenance after deployment, full testing, deployment and daily support. All that integrated in a highly iterative and client facing methodology.

Nowadays, agility is the cornerstone of every modern enterprise. At Upcom, we feel obliged to support this constant need for change and improvement. Our clients have understood the constraints of fixed-price outsourcing agreements, but are happier than others when we prove our ability to adapt to their changing specifications, even after official sign-off.

By following a formal but agile development methodology, Upcom projects are characterized by outstanding quality, while offering competitive prices.

Our ultimate goal is not simply the client satisfaction, but primarily the resolution of his business problem(s). We are able to operate in various different schemes and contracts, from onsite to near shore and off shore and from simple service provision to highly collaborative structures where both parties share the business risks.

In the following section, the reader may find further details for those cases. Combinations between the different collaborative models is also possible; feel free to get in touch with us for further details or example cases.

Location based software development services

Those collaboration schemes are characterised by the main location of the project team. In all schemes, face to face contacts with the client representatives are of extreme importance, forcing us to propose schemes that guarantee this minimum interaction.

Risk sharing cases

The risk-based collaboration schemes are characterised by the partition of the complete project risk between the two parties. From the common services contract scheme, where Upcom bears responsibility on the project IT implementation, to the partnership model, where both parties share costs and risk there is a big difference. This difference is regularly expressed financially, but may also contain other elements important for one or both parties.
